THE SHOOT

I like to create range, so we typically shoot 4 or 5 different outfits depending on how you might use your images. Sessions will usually last about 2 1/2 hours with makeup, but we’ll shoot until we’re happy, so make sure you don’t have anything to rush off to afterwards in case we go a little long.

The camera is tethered to a monitor so we can see everything as we shoot. I believe that showing you the images on the spot is a valuable coaching tool to get expressions that are believable and convey confidence. I usually shoot in the neighborhood of 125+ images, and sessions typically result in approximately 50-75 images that we’ve approved as ‘keepers’. We’ll approve and delete the images on the spot. By shooting and editing this way, we can tailor the shots specifically for you and you'll know exactly what you’ll be working with when we’re done. Once the shoot is over, I’ll upload the keepers to your own proofing gallery that you can share with friends, family or your agent to help you narrow down your final shots.

If you choose me as your photographer, I ask that you communicate to me anything that you feel could be improved over the course of the shoot while we are shooting! I want you totally satisfied with the outcome. Things are easier to adjust during the session, but once the session is over then it's your responsibility to work with the images we decided to keep.

WHAT TO WEAR

I ask people to bring about 8-10 different looks, but keep in mind that you have to love it! If you don’t love it, don’t bring it to the studio. If you’re on the fence about something, bring it anyway and we can all discuss it together. Everything from tank tops, sweaters, t-shirts and light jackets will work, but I’d stay away from busy or bold patterns. If you can, please bring your items on hangers.

MAKEUP & HAIR

Women:
Using my makeup artist is not required, but it is strongly recommended. She's very skilled with makeup applications for photo and film. The cost is $150 paid directly to her. She’s a professional and applies makeup specifically for the type of lighting I use. We start very natural and can add makeup as we go. The makeup artist is on-hand the entire session.
We ask that you come in with a clean face and your hair ready as you would normally have it if you were going out for the day. It’s better for the makeup artist to make small changes rather than try to replicate your hair style from scratch because nobody else knows your hair like you do. We can also create range during the shoot by putting your hair up, if you have the length.

Men:
Guys can typically skip makeup, but again, I recommend it. The cost is $150 paid directly to the makeup artist. Makeup for guys is applied lightly and helps even out skin tone.
Also, for the guys who grow facial hair, you can come in with some growth and we'll shoot that way, then you can shave and we’ll shoot clean, so bring your razor.

PRICING

COST & BOOKING:
Headshot sessions start at $300.  That price includes the session time, private proofing gallery and retouching for three (3), high-resolution digital file of your choosing.  The files are print-ready and also include a smaller resolution file formatted for web use.
Additional images of your choosing can be purchased for $50 each.

PAYMENTS:
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book a session and is due when you book the date. I accept cash, checks, as well as most major credit cards. The remaining balance is due the day of the session.  If for any reason you need to change a scheduled session, just give me 48-hours’ notice, otherwise you may forfeit your deposit.
I can easily work with you on this, so please communicate your needs with me.

The makeup artist requires payment (cash, check or card) the day of the shoot.
